Roly reluctantly turns 40, much to the amusement of his whole family. To add to his worries, daughter Adele wants to get a tattoo, and wife Natalie decides she is fed up with being a housewife and goes job hunting. Also, Grandma attempts to convince Grandpa to visit the doctor about his toilet habits.

Roly attempts to put romance back into his marriage with a surprise weekend away for two. Unfortunately, Natalie doesn't like surprises, and country living doesn't quite agree with Roly, so the result is a less than romantic weekend. Meanwhile, Grandpa, Grandma, and the kids are left at home with Adele in charge. Who will win the battle to host a party?

Natalie is furious when she discovers that Adele intends to leave college to become a lady of leisure. But Adele's plans go up in smoke when she is made a star by a reality TV show. Meanwhile, Lindy is pushed too far by Ed's infidelities and kicks him out. Much to Natalie's horror, Ed makes himself at home in the Crouch household. Later, Lindy and Natalie decide to go on a girls' night out to a salsa class, while the boys stay in to watch a video. Unfortunately, they let Bailey choose the film...

The household is subjected to Natalie's wrath.
